Vols vs. Ole Miss... A Fearless Prediction
I have gone back and forth on this prediction all week.
The Vols had momentum heading to Oxford. They had won three out of four games, including a 56-28 pounding of Memphis. A defeat so devastating Tommy West lost his job immediately thereafter.
Then three Vols freshman football players, Mike Edwards, Nu'Keese Richardson and Janzen Jackson, were arrested early Thursday morning for attempted armed robbery.
Will this team stay focused, despite the incredibly stupid actions (allegedly) of some of their teammates? Janzen Jackson has been called the next Eric Berry. Jackson's decision proved he has nowhere near the proper judgement Berry has shown in his three years in Knoxville.
As for Ole Miss, the Rebels began the season with a top 10 ranking and dreams of an SEC Western Division title. Losses to South Carolina, Alabama and Auburn took away a lot of their fire, as has the season ending broken wrist of their best defensive player, Greg Hardy.
The matchup to watch will be the Vols defense (at times the best in the conference) against the Rebels offense (which shows flashes of brilliance).
Ok, prediction time. The Vols have yet to win a road game this year. To avoid a goose egg for the season, I think they'll have to win at Kentucky on November 28.
Ole Miss 20-Tennessee 17

Well Mark your about to go
Well Mark your about to go 9-2, my budget prohibits me from going to Oxford mainly cause I can't pass up Tunica. The Vols are playing really good ball and I can't remember Nutt beating us, thats my factor Nutt , I like the team chemistry he creates but on field coaching is suspect at best. Wade
Houston Nutt
We beat Houston Nutt and Ark. in '99 on our way to the BCS. We lost to him and the Razorbacks on the road in '99 and he (Nutt) cried after the game!
Nice job Mark
This team is an up and down team in my opinion. They will beat Vandy, but Kentucky may give the Vols a challenge. Depending what team shows up.
