Super Bowl XLIV... A Fearless Prediction
I'm hoping that 2010 goes as well for the fearless predictions as 2009 did.
Last year I finished 12-2 in this category... the only games I missed were UCLA @ Tennessee and Tennessee @ Kentucky. I was on a roll.
First up, in 2010... it's Super Bowl XLIV. I'll start with some unbeatable analysis. Actually, I'm not sure that is correct.
I do know enough to get through the day when it comes to both teams, but not nearly as much as the shady guy in the Dominican Republic asking for your credit card information for his prediction. My prediction is free... for entertainment purposes only, of course.
All week long I have heard more and more people picking the New Orleans Saints. Be it Dwight Freeney's ankle issue, or Peyton Manning overload, or Katrina, or the "Who Dat?" controversy... the Saints have become a very popular underdog.
They are a great story, and they are a very good football team....
But so is Indianapolis.
Peyton Manning has been almost unstoppable, despite having almost no running game, and having some key receivers that only Mel Kiper Jr. had heard of before the 2009 season began.
Does Peyton Manning need another Super Bowl championship to secure his NFL legacy? No. He's heading to the Hall of Fame no matter what happens on February 7 in Miami. But Manning won't allow his team to lose. Not when another Lombardi Trophy is this close.
Mark Nagi's Fearless Prediction: Indianapolis 27, New Orleans 17
2010 Fearless Prediction Record: 0-0
