Lady Vols softball a model of consistency

The Tennessee Lady Vols softball team has become one of UT's most consistent winners.

On Sunday they beat Louisville 3-1 in extra innings, to capture the NCAA Regional title, and earn a trip to Michigan for the Super Regionals.

Was there a post-Monica Abbott effect with this program?  Perhaps.  The past two years the Lady Vols lost at home in the NCAA Regionals.  But they are back on track now.

We've come to expect a nationally competitive team from co-head coaches Ralph and Karen Weekly.  Remember, this is still a very young team, with 5-6 freshman getting significant playing time. 

And with the nation's no. 1 recruiting class coming to Knoxville next season, they should stay among the elite teams in the country... for years to come.
